Details
We are proud to present Running Free, a 38ft Dudley Dix designed blue water yacht, built in Cape Town, South Africa. This vessel is fully equipped, with a round bilge steel hull, long fin keel and being set up for short hand sailing makes Running Free perfect for coastal cruising or blue water adventures.
Step on board; the cockpit has a central helm and plenty of seating. Step down a few stairs to the spacious saloon with dinette, settee and navigation station. The fully equipped inline galley is located starboard side forward of saloon, with plenty of bench and cupboard space, double sink, pressure hot/cold water plus salt water rinse tap, gas stove and hotplates and a top loading fridge/freezer.
Accommodation consists of three cabins, sleeping up to 6 people. The forward cabin has a semi-island double berth and storage; mid ship portside cabin has double berth and storage. To the aft is a single cabin starboard side (with work area) and dinette converts to another berth. The head with shower and sink is located between the mid ship and forward cabins.
There is ample fuel and water on board for extended trips (the water maker can be reconnected if desired by a new owner). A sugar scoop allows for easy access whilst at anchor.
Current owner has replaced standing rigging in 2021 and new main sail in April 2023 (see below specifications for details). Hull has been sandblasted, reprimed and antifouled Oct 2023.
Running Free is perfect for a couple or family looking to do extended sailing trips either coastal cruising or blue water adventures. With current Australian Registration, plus the maintenance and upgrades the current owners has done, there will be little to do but sail her to the next destination.
